Nobel Peace Laureate addresses the Labour Superior Court, Brazil

On 16th October 2019, Nobel Peace Laureate Mr. Kailash Satyarthi while inaugurating the International seminar at the Labour Superior Court (TST) in Brasilia elicited that the culture of steering from violence to peace at the workplace rests on the following 3 pillars-

Liberty;

Dignity; and

Compassion.

He also quoted examples of compassionate judiciary from across the world, particularly India. Addressing 1200 judges and others in Brasilia, Mr. Satyarthi shed light on the plight of 780 million workers who don’t even earn $2 per day, 150 million child labourers and 40 million forced labourers, who are victims of violence. He appealed to them to create a culture of peace by fostering safety, dignity and fearlessness in addition to robust law enforcement at workplaces.
