On 30th April 2019, Mr. Kailash Satyarthi during the last lap of his current tour met the Swedish Minister of Trade Ms. Ann Linde. They discussed how Sweden could lead by example in ensuring that the goods that it sources are not made by children.
The Nobel Peace Laureate also met the civil society of the country and emphasised upon innovative cross sectoral partnerships to ensure that the rights of the most marginalised are upheld. He underpinned the importance of youth organisations to become the voice of the socially excluded children. Expressing concern over the heightened vulnerabilities of the refugee children he called upon the Government to embrace them with an open heart and make provisions for their safety and education.
