Inaugurating the mid-term meeting of Society of Heart Failure and Transplantation Mr. Kailash Satyarthi highlighted that over 250,000 children are born with heart diseases every year out of which barely 5% receive the treatment they need.
He asserted that it is the collective responsibility of the entire Nation to ensure that health services and medical care reaches to all children so that they are healthy and grow up to become physically fit and mentally alert citizens.
He called upon the surgeons to embrace compassion living up to their oath while treating their patients. He particularly highlighted the importance of treating children as if they were their own.
